Age Range: 9 - 12 years

Twelve-year-old Twig is sent to live at a ranch for troubled girls—on an island haunted by ghost horses. Her new foster parents have carved a home out of the mist-shrouded trees and filled it with unwanted girls. Her first glimpse of a ghostly boy on horseback is quickly followed by the appearance of a mysterious mare with cloven hooves. A unicorn. Not ghosts after all.
